Bostik CWP – Crystalline Waterproofing

Bostik CWP is a surface applied, integral crystalline waterproofing material, which waterproofs and protects concrete in depth. It consists of Portland cement, specially treated quartz sand and a compound of active chemicals. Bostik CWP needs water only to be mixed prior to the application. When Bostik CWP is applied to a concrete surface the active chemicals combine with the free lime and moisture present in the capillary tracts of the concrete to form an insoluble, crystalline structure. These crystals fill the pores and minor shrinkage cracks in the concrete to prevent any further ingress, still allowing the concrete to breathe.

  • Becomes an integral part of the concrete, forming a complete body of strength and durability.
  • Penetrates deeply and seals concrete’s capillary tracts and shrinkage cracks.
  • Can be applied from either positive or negative side.
  • Completely effective against high hydrostatic pressure.
  • Easy to apply, less labour and cost effective.
  • Becomes an integral part of the substrate – cannot be removed easily.
  • Back filling can be done without further protection like placement or steel or wire mesh.
  • Can be used in the pH range of 3 – 11.
  • Can be applied to moist or green concrete.
  • Nontoxic. Can be used for potable water applications.
  • Water treatment works.
  • Canals & Harbours.
  • Basements / Foundations.

BOSTIK CWP can be applied to all structurally sound concrete – new or old. It may be applied to either the positive or negative sides of the concrete face.

Typical areas of application are:
  • Water tanks / towers
  • Reservoirs / dams
  • Swimming pools
  • Water treatment works
  • Canals & Harbours
  • Basements / Foundations
  • Tunnels
  • Retaining walls
  • Bridge decks etc.

Water retaining structures: Internal concrete wall surfaces: Two coats of Bostik CWP at 0.65 – 0.8Kg / sq.m or one coat at 1.3 – 1.6Kg / sq. m applied with a brush.

Construction slab: Bostik CWP is applied at 1 Kg / sq.m in one slurry coat to hardened concrete or dry sprinkled and trowel applied to fresh concrete when this has reached initial set.

Construction Joints: Bostik CWP is applied at 1.5 Kg / sq.m in slurry or dry powder consistency immediately prior to placing the next lift / bay of concrete.

Binding concrete: Bostik CWP is applied at 1.5Kg / sq.m in slurry or dry powder consistency immediately prior to placing the overlying concrete slab.

  • Bostik CWP is packed in 30 Kg bags.
